The NSW Government has draft legislation for public comment relating to the identification, rectification and certification of any external cladding. A public register is being created where all strata buildings in NSW will have to register if they have external cladding and if so, how they will identify if it is combustible or not. Once law, Owners Corporation will have to register within 90 days. It is expected that thousands of buildings in NSW have been cladded.
